The Finals Season 2 Reveal Is What The Game Needed

4k

FJC is back with another finals article, and with season 2 right around the corner. I thought I'd talk to you guys about my thoughts and opinions on the trailer and what new items are going to be coming to the game, as well as new gadgets and specializations. We're getting a brand new map and a brand new game mode, so without further ado, let's get right into the article.

I'm going to put that in the description, but it states the finals. The new hacker play style lets players step into the shoes of CNS, with a set of new gadgets and a new specialization that can be mixed and matched with the player's existing tool set. Remove walls, defy gravity tunnels across the arena, and transform items into glitches in the system.

Be the ultimate cybertactician and bring a new dimension to the game. Just a quick backstory regarding CNS. I haven't been staying up to date completely with the lore of the finals, but essentially, the finals are a virtual reality tournament, and CNS is a hacker group that is trying to hack the finals.

Now I want to move on to the gadgets and specializations that they're adding for season 2, and we start out with the dematerializer. And on their steam post, it states the dematerializer, mediums, a specialization that temporarily erases physical surfaces, like walls, ceilings, or goo, allowing contestants to see, shoot, and pass through them, create new passageways, and also close them back up again, turning every obstacle into an open door.

It's very easy to tell what direction a team is coming from when they RPG a wall, but I'm assuming with the dematerializer that they will add a little bit of a sound cue so that you know what direction the team is coming from, but it changes the game completely rather than rpging or destroying a wall with an explosive.

Next, we're moving on to anti-gravity. Cube, which is a gadget for heavies, and on the steam post it says that the anti-gravity cube is a deployed cube that manipulates gravity in its immediate area, lifting contestants and objects upwards. Is it a traversal tool or a defensive gadget? It's up to each contestant.

Now, that last little part is very interesting to me because when I first saw the anti-gravity cube. I immediately thought of it as a defensive tactic to get people off of the cash out, but that post also lets us know that Heavies are going to be using this as a movement gadget as well, which is a perfect example of when this anti-gravity.

Cube would be used if everybody is dead except for your heavy player, and he has no RPGs or C4s to bring the cash out; he could throw down an anti-gravity. Cube and slowly make his way up towards the cash out, either saving it from being stolen or killing everybody around it and then stealing it back.

Now the next gadget on the list that we're going to talk about is the one that I'm most excited to use and see in game, and that would be the Gateway grenade. The Gateway grenade allows you to have a pair of limited-range deployable portals. When both are thrown and activated, contestants and objects can move between the two locations.

battlefield 1

Anyone can use a portal, but players can't see or shoot through them. Perfect for a quick getaway when things get hairy, and I'm super excited to see how this plays in the game and what kind of skill gap this adds to the ranking. I was talking to another content creator within the finals community about this, and he made a very good point by itself.

This item might not seem like the best gadget to use, but together with your team, the possibilities and attacks that you could create, and the in-and-out playability. Is unreal; it really reminds me of The Wraith Portal from Apex Legends, except for the fact that you can't shoot through it, so I'm also curious to see what teams are going to do to bait somebody into their portal to get a free easy kill, and the last gadget that we're going to talk about today is the data reshaper, and this is for mediums.

The data reshaper is a gadget that changes enemy fortifications, or any random objects for that matter, into something entirely different, like turning an enemy mine into a chair or an enemy turret into a table great for breaking through enemy defenses. Now, of all the gadgets and specializations that were shown in the trailer, this one ranks among the least interesting to me.

battlefield 2042

Don't get me wrong. I think this could be pretty useful if you're trying to sneak up on a team and they have a bunch of mines and turrets around the cash out and you want to sneakily get rid of them without them hearing anything like an explosion. I'm assuming there's going to be a sound queue for this gadget as well, but we'll just have to wait and see until season 2 comes out.

Now let's talk about some more exciting things coming to season 2 and the finals, and that would be a new weapon for each class. The post states all builds are getting new weapons, with the lights getting the 9 3 R burst fire machine pistol medium, getting the new Famas Burst assault rifle, and being able to wield the new KS23 slug shotgun.

I'm not going to lie to you guys; I wasn't too excited to hear that the Heavies are going to be getting a new shotgun that also has even more range than the current one, but I'll wait until season 2 actually releases and I'm able to use the shotgun and see how it's used against me until I judge it now.

battlefield 4

I want to talk to you guys about the brand new map coming to the finals, which looks insane to me. The post on Steam states that, with access to assets and source files, CNS has introduced its own arena. Sy, dollar sign horizon, or CIS horizon This glitchy neon-filled cityscape exists in the loading realm of the game show and features a mix of vertical and horizontal gameplay.

Voxal bridges create pathways between buildings and pieces of floating glitch geometry, allowing contestants to parkour through the arena, partially loaded and out of place. Sy, dollar sign horizon, or CIS horizon Sorry is a sight to behold, especially at night, and I really can't tell you guys how excited I am to play this new map.

It looks insane, and from a visual perspective, the colors and everything about the map are super eye-catching, so I really can't wait to get my hands on this new map and see how it flows in ranked play. One of the last things I want to discuss with you guys today is a new game mode coming to the finals, and it's a 5v5 game mode.

battlefield 5

The new game mode is called Powers Shift, and it's an all-new casual 5v5 game mode where two teams compete to escort a platform through the arena. If interrupted by an enemy team, the platform grinds to a halt or switches directions entirely. Watch out! The platform will tear through anything in its path and can be rocked by physics.
